How to Install Ukulib for Minecraft Java Edition

Install Ukulib safely by matching Minecraft, Fabric, Quilt or NeoForge, selecting the right release JAR, using the correct mods folder, and testing the profile.

Installing Ukulib is a version-matching task, not simply a matter of moving any file with the right name into Minecraft. This guide gives players a controlled sequence for selecting the loader profile, release JAR, mods folder, and first launch check.

Before installation: identify the requirement

Start with the mod that asked for Ukulib. Record its Minecraft version, loader, and required library range. These values determine the correct Ukulib file. Do not build a profile around a random search result or a filename that only contains the right mod name.

Create or open the correct loader profile

Use the launcher instance that already runs the dependent mod. Confirm whether it is Fabric, Quilt, or a supported NeoForge profile. Forge and NeoForge are separate loader families; a NeoForge label should not be treated as a generic Forge file. Launch the profile once before adding mods so the game directory and logs are created.

Practical rule: match the exact Minecraft version, mod loader, dependent mod, and Ukulib release before launch.

Download a matching release JAR

For normal gameplay, choose a published Ukulib .jar whose Minecraft and loader metadata match the profile. A GitHub repository archive is source code and normally does not belong in the mods folder. Keep the downloaded filename visible until you have confirmed its version.

Place the file in the active mods folder

Open the instance folder from your launcher, locate the mods directory, and move the compatible Ukulib .jar into it. Check for an older Ukulib file and remove duplicates. Also confirm that the dependent mod is in the same profile rather than another global or launcher-managed folder.

Launch, test, and read the log

Start the exact profile you prepared. If Minecraft reaches the title screen, open the dependent mod’s settings or feature to confirm the library was detected. If startup stops, read the first relevant error in latest.log. Missing dependency, incompatible version, and wrong-loader messages usually provide the fastest route to the fix.
